end corporate Complicity

Israel is an apartheid state, in which millions of Palestinians either live as second-class citizens, or live in sectioned off enclaves in the West Bank under constant threat and surveillance from Settlers protected by the Israeli Military.

Israel has slaughtered an uncountable number of innocent civilians in Gaza, in a genocidal campaign to force Palestinians out of their homes.

We believe it is the bare minimum responsibility of any and all corporations to boycott and divest from Israel until the rights of Palestinians are not just recognized, but affirmed with a Palestinian State, the right to return, and the dismantlement of the Apartheid State of Israel.

We are calling economic collaboration with Israel for what it is—complicity in genocide and apartheid. Any corporation that doesn’t take initiative to end their own complicity are collaborators. There is no pretending Israel isn’t what it has shown itself to be and what it continues to be.

Corporations, when pressed, will obfuscate, divert, and try to message around what they are doing and enabling. But there is no excuse for supporting a genocide and apartheid through economic collaboration. Corporations, all of which are more than capable of cutting ties as many did with South Africa, have no excuse. It is up to us to remind them of that fact.

NO MORE EXCUSES

Major Grocery Store brands in the Upstate New York Area (Hannaford, Price Chopper/Market 32, Aldi’s) maintain business connections with Israeli companies and buy Israeli products to sell in spite of the genocide and continuing apartheid.

As of this moment, we are asking the individuals reading to contact the grocery store they shop at the most and ask them why they still maintain those business connections in spite of the atrocities the Israeli government has committed; and despite calls from international and the Israeli human rights group B’tselem to “use every tool available under international law to bring an immediate end to Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people.”

They will obfuscate, they will divert, they will message around. But there is no excuse. If genocide and apartheid are not reasons enough to stop economically collaborating with Israel, then that is the position they will be stating if they refuse, and we will be continuing this campaign through the months with rallies, awareness pickets, and postering to make sure their customers know that is the position they are taking.

Disclaimer: The brands and products that each store carries varies, and the supply chain is often a multinational web. For this reason, we believe it is the responsibility of the corporations themselves to make transparent the sources of their products. It is also why we are not making specific demands for specific brands to be dropped; we want the stores to decide where their line is, and go from there.
